Week 13 & 14: The Final Countdown

The exciting conclusion!

Week 13: Roleplay to the Sunken Tower
Present Warriors: Everyone except Chet
Party Level: 18

I forced my group to roleplay this one. It went... relatively well.

Basically, Wesker wanted to kill Bahamut but I didn't let him because he would die, it is a God he's trying to kill. So instead, he burned down a orphanage and stuffed an old lady in it while it was burning.

Viridia traveled the world for a bit, and going to Bikke's grave and such, and then went to Melmond to find a farmer. He wanted to train that farmer to use Sword Magic like him. The farmer ended up exploding himself.

Not much else happened. Taliesin tried to convince Matoya to bring help for the final battle against Chaos. Matoya agrees and will do so when after she brings them to the tower.

Also, Wesker got together with Matoya. Not sure how that happened...

Into the Darkness...

The Sunken Tower is beneath the deepest, darkest ocean. Nobody knows why this tower is here, not even Bahamut and the Deva know why this is here.

Matoya stayed clingy to Wesker, as everyone walked around this tower. Basically, they started at the very top of it, like on a pillar, with stairs spiraling down around it. They're not actually inside of a tower, per-say.

Walking down, Matoya asked several, roleplaying questions. Questions like, what was the highlight of the adventure, what did the players experience, what childhood memory their characters valued most and which person in this world that the character valued most.

Halfway down the tower, gravity shifts backwards, so everything becomes upside down. Try to figure that one out.

The Warriors find a door and inside is Ultima; the most powerful spell in this world. Matoya excitedly learns it, and then gives it to Illyria to learn it.

Deeper down, there was a window on the side of the tower. Looking inside the window, the Warriors can see several people sitting around a fancy bed, with two screens and a large bookcase filled with several, strange books. There were people chatting, and someone who seemed to have been important, but nobody was listening to.

Taliesin reached in and knocked the important guy's glasses off. They fell off (more like, I flicked them off inconspicuously) and all of the players had a laugh.

At the very bottom of the tower was a portal to the Void of Chaos. Matoya says that she can give one more gift to the Warriors; two-extra level ups in exchange for her immortality. Wesker objected to the idea but then he remembered that he was a vampire and he can turn her into one too.

And thus, the Warriors all jumped into the void...

Final Week: The Warriors of Light vs. Chaos
Present Warriors: Everyone!
Party Level: 20

Of course I wasn't going to let anyone get away by not coming. I made sure everyone was present!

And so, the Warriors jumped into the void... they saw nothing. Saw nothing and felt nothing. And then... PAIN. Lots and lots of pain, as if they were being crushed. They can't do anything about it. But then, something...

They stood on a large crystal platform. In front of them, stood Garland's half-mangled body. He tells the Warriors that as soon as they destroyed the four fiends, his thoughts came back to him. He doesn't truly want to become Chaos, but at this point he has no choice. He begs the Warriors to stop him.

And so the battle begins... Garland involuntarily becomes Chaos.

There were three forms to Chaos: Deep Chaos, Chaos Influx, Chaos.

Deep Chaos looks like how he did in the game plus a sword in each hand. He was considered to be floating, so any effect that required him to be on the ground did not work. Another thing, he had a burst 2 wind aura; Warriors would be pushed back two spaces if they stopped in the shield.

Chaos' main attack is his elemental swords, and a flash attack with his eyes that would stun people. These attacks were based off of random dice rolls.

This part of the battle probably took the longest, somehow, even though this had less health. Taliesin used up all of his powers to push Chaos into a thing of thick vines, which I had to use multiple action points to get out of (each form of Chaos had 3 of them). At one point, everybody weaked Chaos so much (-10 to Attack & Damage, -8 to Defenses, etc) that I had Chaos fly away for one turn, only to return back to normal again.

Sorry, I dislike the challenge being taken down so much. :P

Anyway, Deep Chaos got to 0 HP and grabbed his head in pain. Then, two more arms grew out of his sides, each holding an additional sword. This was Chaos Influx.

Chaos gained two more attacks to his random elemental sword attacks, and was able to attack twice in one turn. He also gained one new powerful attack: Heartless Angel. He only used this attack when he was bloodied, and it automatically hits EVERYONE for 3d12+20 damage. It was quite hurtful.

He also had a burst 3 wind aura this time.

And thus, the Warriors attacked him back relentlessly. And eventually they got his HP down to 0 as well.

Chaos flies away, and gives the Warriors a quick breath. They regained all of the Encounter powers that was used and were able to use one healing surge.

And BAM!!! A gargantuan beast destroys half of the crystal platform. Chaos' upper body stuck out of the platform, with both of his arms hanging on.

Chaos' still attacked randomly, but he hits with burst and blast attacks now. He also got the Heartless Angel attack back. Instead of a wind aura, he now has a Nuclear Breath, which as long as a Warrior stands in front of Chaos, they'll receive 20 damage and the only way to get rid of it was to walk away from Chaos.

Chaos' arms also moved independently. They would either shoot a fire/cold beam, or would grab near-by targets and would crush them.

And you know what was the most awesome part was? Wesker managed to land a double crit. On his first turn.

DOUBLE. FREAKIN'. CRIT.

Some people were happy with it, however the majority of the group was disappointed. In the end, it was decided that only half of Chaos' HP would be lost, not all of it.

Which meant Chaos used Heartless Angel right off the bat. -_-

The battle was fairly quick. In the end, Wesker actually killed Chaos. However, I wanted Chet to land the final blow, and so when it got to his turn, he did it. Although he missed with all three of his attacks, he still dealt half-damage! Which was enough to take Chaos down.

In the end, I think only one person actually died, and nobody else got below 0 HP. :<

And down Chaos went...

The world was bright, the world was lively,
All of the people who lived in this world, were happy.
But then, darkness. The world's power, the crystals,
were lost. From the chaos that emerged, the four fiends
took over the world, slaying all who attempt to defeat them.

But then, a miracle. Four people are born with crystals,
each one who knew what they had to do.
Rhadghast, Kvothe, Wesker, and Chet,
They and their companions travelled the world to do one thing:
To restore the crystals to their grace.

If it were not for the companions, the crystal bearers would
have lost the ever raging war long ago.
Coren, Taliesin, Illyria, and Viridia,
if it were not for the power of friendship, and teamwork,
the world would have not been saved.

They have saved a princess, and then they have saved a kingdom.
They have founded the knowledge of Airships,
and have learned to communicate with near god-like beings.
They have made friends, but in turn made enemies.
They have done it all, and most importantly,
the crystals have been restored.

And thus, the world became bright, the world became lively.
With the power of the four crystals,
Earth, Fire, Wind, Water...
Chaos is destroyed. Everyone is safe.
No more shall the world suffer,
No more shall the world fear darkness.

The Gods have sketched out a new constallation in the stars,
Eight people, all watching the world from the heavens.
The people shall look up every night at the skies,
And they all will remember the legends,
of the Warriors of Light.

Chaos turns back into Garland. The entire world around the Warriors start to shake and seem to be disappearing.

Suddenly, the void opens up again, and at the other end, Matoya reaches her hand out to the Warriors. Garland looks up and has his hand up, before he falls over due to exhaustion.

The Warriors ultimately decide to save Garland.

On the other end, there are a ton of soldiers, beasts, and even dragons, waiting for a battle... Matoya brought them all here to help fight Garland, but Matoya explains that the void disappeared when they got there. Even King Leo was ready for a fight.

The Warriors explain Garland and his purpose, and the King decides that he'll figure out something for him later. Then they all go to Cornelia for the greatest celebration of all time.

And partied they did, everyone got pissed drunk, and everyone was happy. The World was saved and it was all thanks to the efforts of Wesker, Rhadghast, Kvothe, Chet, Illyria, Taliesin, Coren, and Viridia. The world is saved, and looking at the skies every night, they'll see themselves looking down on the Earth as constellations.

Wesker and his new bride Matoya creates a new, evil, nation and starts the religion of Weskerism. Kvothe joins the nation and spreads the word of Weskerism across the world. Illyria also joins Wesker's nation and becomes a partner to Wesker in the army. Viridia creates a school in the mountains, where he trains farmers in the art of exploding swords. Taliesin continues to hone his nature skills, becoming one with nature. Rhadghast joins Taliesin and both of them set off making rights in the world. Coren uses his knowledge of Airships and creates the nation of Lindblum, the world's first Airship nation. Chet becomes a personal body guard to King Leo, training his skills and creating a rock band with the King. He also becomes a super saiyan.

Also, Wesker finally kills the God of the world, Bahamut. Bahamut did not see it coming.

Week 10, 11, 12: The Chaos Shrine & The Warship

Late Again, I know. :X

Week 10: Storming the Chaos Shrine: Pt. 1
Present Warriors: Everyone except Chet and Coren
Party Level: 13

The campaign I wrote was so large that it was split into two different sessions.

It's been a little too long... but basically, the Warriors went to the past by going into the Ruined Shrine. From there, the Crystals transported them. Immediately they were attacked by Balor, whom they all rape.

As they went through-out the Shrine of of old, they fought a number of demons and tieflings. They also fought an Ahriman while fighting for the Excalibur, and Dark Bahamut for the Muramasa.

Nothing too noteworthy, although Ahriman was quite a different battle from usual. He didn't damage anyone, they had numbers appear over their heads. Each turn a character had, the number went down by 1. When it reached 0, that character died. However, the number was set to 6, thinking that it would take them awhile to kill Ahriman... in the end, only Rhadgast was killed.

Dark Bahamut also had a different mechanic. He would breath in every turn for 3 turns and would cause Mega Flare, an intense attack that hit everyone for 3d12 damage. They only ever got hit once, though. :X

The highlight of this week was that both Rhadgast and Wesker tried to climb down Dark Bahamut's throat while he had his mouth open. They didn't get too far, though, before they got trapped in his Mega Flare, shooting them out of his mouth.

Week 11: Storming the Chaos Shrine: Pt. 2
Present Warriors: Everyone except Chet
Party Level: 13

Since the session was split into two parts, nobody got any experience and gold.

Continuing on, the Warriors found two more treasures, Holy and Flare. Immediately, an Iron Giant dropped from the ceiling.

For some reason, though, the Giant wasn't as tough as I'd hopped. :<

But anyway, the Giant was also a little different, in that he actually had 25 hits before he was felled, instead of actual HP. Also, for some reason, the Iron Giant bled blood.

During this battle, though, Kvothe actually changed the Iron Giant into a Glass Giant, using his Iron to Glass technique. This made things interesting. It still bled blood.

When all 25 hits were knocked off, its legs broke. The impact of the giant thing crashing onto the ground broke the ground and revealed a ladder.

Climbing down, Wekser grabbed the Glass Giant's helmet.

There was a tunnel, and this tunnel took them to a familiar room...

Garland was inside. Praying. He tells the Warriors what his evil plan is (which is to destroy the universe by having it collapse into itself using his time loop). The Warriors fight him.

...and in Viridia's first turn, she double critical'd.

Now, we introduced a homebrew rule that is quite common early in the campaign. Basically, if you score a critical hit, roll again. If THAT's also another 20, then it's called a double critical, and the target is automatically dead.

Yeah...

Sure, the chances are very low, as noted by the fact that NOBODY got a double critical hit for pretty much the entire campaign... but on the battle against the Warrior's arch nemesis!?

ARGH.

So, yeah, Garland's body exploded pretty much.

BUT... suddenly, the Warriors hear the voice of the Four Fiends.

Basically, they reveal that Garland was a pawn of theirs and not the other way around! They're the ones who wanted to destroy the universe!

They take Garland back to the present with them. The Chaos Shrine starts to shake, and the crystals transport the Warriors back to the present.

In the present, the Warriors see a gigantic Warship flying away from the destroyed remains of Cornelia.

Week 12: Siege on the Warship
Present Warriors: Everyone
Party Level: 15

The Warriors check out the destroyed remains of Cornelia. It's pretty much in shambles, but everyone important is still alive.

King Leo begs the Warriors to stop the Warship... and they do so by crashing their own onto it!

OK, they didn't crash it on their own, they were actually shot down. But in turn, they crashed on the Warship.

As soon as they get out of the ship, the future Balor steps out and confronts them. Then he gets raped again.

Travelling through the ship, killing the demons and tieflings, they finally find a large room with a black crystal in it.

In there, the four fiends confront them all at once.

The next thing that commences is the longest, most brutal battle in the entire campaign.

Brutal because of how long it took to get stuff done.

And none of the Warriors even died. --;

And so, the Warriors continued on and confronted Garland again... he tells them that his transformation is almost complete. He begs the Warriors to go away, and then he disappears.

Back at Cornelia, Matoya reveals that Garland is in the Sunken Tower, in the middle of the Ocean. Everyone cheers for the Warriors, because they are their last hopes, of course.

Week 8 & 9 - Bahamut and to the Sky

For those who actually read these, I'm sorry again for never updating. I'm a procrastinator... so, y'know. I'm bad at this.

Since it's been quite a while (more than a month, I think...) it's going to be a little hard to remember Week 8. Week 9 might be fine, though.

Week 8: Trial of Ordeals
Present Warriors: Taliesin, Wesker, Viridia, Kvothe, and Coren
Party Level: 11
Some people didn't show up for some reason, I really can't remember. I know Illyria did show up but eventually left because she was very tired. Basically, at the end of the last campaign, the two split up and decided to meet up at this ruined castle. A voice calls from inside telling the Warriors to enter the castle.

Inside, the Voice tells the Warriors that it has a gift for them, and they'll only receive it if they pass the Trial of Ordeals. A wall at the other end of the huge castle room they're in opens up and leads to darkness.

Wandering through this tunnel, the Warriors are surrounded in complete darkness, yet they can still see each other just fine. They eventually find a light at the end and they emerge in the sky, on a stone platform with a fork in front of them. The left fork leads them to the Tower of Light and the right fork leads them to the Tower of Shadows.

The Warriors split up. Each tower has six floors, with a challenge on each floor. The towers are virtually the same except one tower's challenges are related to light and the other tower's challenges are related to dark. In the Tower of Light, each floor had very bright light that required perception checks to focus. Tower of Dark, same thing except it was very dark.

For both Towers, the first floor has either cracks leading to sky (Light) or spikes sticking out of the ground (Shadow). The next floor had a puzzle relating to earth, the next floor had a puzzle related to fire, next was a puzzle related to Water and the last one was a puzzle relating to Wind. The last floor of each tower required the Warriors to focus as best as they can to find the Stairs (it was randomly placed). Then, at the very top of the towers, there was a passage leading to darkness.

Going through the passage brought the Warriors back to the platform in the sky, where they can see the tower they were just in falling to the earth.

In the Tower of Darkness, Kvothe thought he could be tricky by skipping over the Wind puzzle by being pushed off the large hole in the ground so he can use his boots to teleport to the other sky. He's the first to discover that Magic does not work in this strange world and he fell to his doom.

When both parties got together, they see a black hole opening up between where the forks used to be. This passage lead them to a town surrounded by a large mountain. There's only four houses here. Looking inside one of the houses, the Warriors can see either the inside of an earthy cave, the inside of a lava passage, a shrine at the bottom of the ocean, or a patch of land in the sky, depending on which house they looked into. Opening the doors to these houses will reveal the face of a demon surrounded by a vast demon army.

The houses themselves are actually completely empty. When everyone looked into the houses a Well appeared in the middle of the town. Looking down, it seems to lead nowhere but Wesker immediately jumps down and Viridia grabs the rope and climbs down. Eventually everyone musters up the courage to climb down.

The Warriors climb down and then suddenly appear in the castle they were in at the beginning of the session, except this time it looks like it was just like new. There is a pillar of light in the room. Stepping into it the Warriors are taken to a tower where they have to figure out which pillar of light will take them up to the next floor (more and more pillars appear as they go up).

Eventually, they appeared in another tower where there is a single spiral staircase leading up to the darkness.

Climbing up, it's eerily quiet. Suddenly, Taliesin gets grabbed by something and disappears. The rest of the Warriors start running for their lives, as this thing keeps falling down and tries to grab more of the Warriors. They manage to escape its grasp and reach the top of the tower, where they enter a door into more darkness.

Walking in here, the Warriors eventually end up in the starry sky. Then, a large dragon appears! Bahamut, the God of this World appears and grants the Warriors a job well done. He brings back Taliesin and Kvothe and grants everyone an extra ability score to spend. He then tells everyone to go to the Deva village to learn where to go next.

Week 9: The Sky Fortress
Present Warriors: Everyone 'cept Viridia
Party Level: 11
And the Deva village they go. There they meet an old Deva named Gomorrah and they learn that Garland is still alive and was sent back in time to become a being of Chaos. There, he kills the Warriors of Light that go there to stop him and contacts his future self to do the same.

Gomorrah tells them to go to the Mirage Tower to get to the Sky Fortress where the Wind Crystal is.

So the Warriors head to said tower. In the tower, they need to find some keys to get to the top. There are also false keys to be wary of. The inside looks like a large spiral staircase, with four other staircases in each corner. Each staircase leads to a room with one of the four keys needed. Each room has a bit of a puzzle to get to the keys, and then the Warrior must figure out which key is the real one. Simple, no?

At the top, they are teleported to the Sky Fortress... which is a bit of an understatement, seeing as they are more like in Outer Space.

They travel through the Sky Fortress and find some treasure along the way. The materials used to make the sky fortress seems to be made out of a grey, see-through glass. All of the Warriors somehow go the right way each and every time, thus they missed a lot of stuff like a living quarters and some gold.

They enter a large room with a sphere in the middle. In the sphere, they see three lights all meeting up at one location: The old castle they first visited to defeat Garland. There is also a robot there which Illyria burns it until it melts into a blob.

Then, they enter a chamber where a large robot is guarding. It seems docile until Taliesin pulls a sword out of its back, the Kiku-ichimonji. It attacks but the Warriors attack back and manage to destroy it without too much damage.

Then they enter the chamber, where they can see the Wind Crystal on the other side of this bridge. Crossing the bridge, the Warriors hear a rasp womanly voice. She tells them that she is Tiamat and she will devour the Warriors!

Four heads appear from the sides of the bridge. The Warriors slowly whittle her health down as she swallows some of them whole. In the end, they manage to defeat Tiamat. Rhadgast gets the final hit, slashing one of her heads off. She flies into the sky and explodes in a bloody mess, dropping Kvothe who she just swallowed last round.

Wesker's Wind Crystal flies and interacts with the large crystal. The Wind and final Crystal gets revived! But before the Warriors can rejoice, the entire fortress starts to shake. Tiamat's voice comes back and says that her body is destroyed but she still has a small bit of time left to use her mind to destroy the fortress!

Then, Gomorrah appears and tells everyone to grab onto him. He teleports the Warriors back onto the Airship.

And thus, the Warriors know where to go: To the Ruined Castle to go back in time and stop Garland from becoming a being of Chaos! Can the Warriors of Light truly stop Garland once and for all!?

Week 7 - The Split

Present Warriors: Everybody
(excluding Machiavelli... he's probably gone for good)
Party Level: 10

A bit late with this one... So late that I already did another session after this one! Thus, I will wait a day or two before writing up Week 8.

The Split... why is this chapter called that? Well, to speed things up my friend and I decided to split up the group where he will take one half and I'll take the other. My half consisted of Chet, Coren, Viridia, and Wesker. He took Taliesin, Illyria, Kvothe, and Rhadgast.

I would have liked to have DM'd both sessions, but I really wanted to get passed this part quickly. And besides, for my half I wrote out my best session yet.

Since I wasn't at the other session I only know things based off second-hand knowledge. Basically, they went into Mount Gulg, where they met some Dwarves who wouldn't tell them what they were doing there. After a while they met some demons and the Dwarves reveal that they're actually there to seal off the volcano so that a "thing" wouldn't get out.

The Dwarves end up dying and the Warriors find themselves in a room full of demons... lots and lots of them. Crawling all over the room, in fact. And then, a large demon with wings appears. He lifts up both Kvothe and Rhadgasts, looks at their crystals, and then walks away. The other demons follow suit.

They eventually find a woman wielding two two swords named Marilith. They fight her and after a while she transforms into a large snake lady. Kvothe tried to turn her weapons into glass but she just pulled out even more.

They apparently had an easy time with her, Kvothe being the only one who got into the negatives. After Rhadgast's Fire Crystal was restored with power, they blew up the volcano and headed for the near-by destroyed castle.

By the time they finished, I was barely half-way done with my session. I didn't write their session, though, and it was my friend's first time at DMing. But, whatever, now it's time for my session.

My Warriors headed for Onrac. There, they decided to gather clues about the sunken Mermish Islands, where the Water Crystal used to be. They discover that a man recently washed up on the shores of Onrac, and has been looking out at the sea everyday. He doesn't know anything about who he is or where he came from.

The Warriors meet him at the docks. Chet's crystal then starts to glow and the man (named Terrance) seems to have a flash of some sort; he claims's he's seen a crystal like that. He believes it to be under the sea. He tells the Warriors to come back tomorrow, that they have to go there. He doesn't know why but he just has to.

The Warriors decide to take his word on it, so they mess around until sunset. Viridia manages to catch two salmon (one of them who happens to be a gay, fish-stick loving, black salmon). She also sees a giant fish jumping in the distance.

The others didn't do too much. I think Wesker tried to teach his horse the love of helicopter-brooms but it didn't work out.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot to mention but my Warriors took the Airship with them.

So, the next day, Terrance tells them that he washed ashore in this boat. It looks like a large barrel. He calls it a submarine.

He tells the Warriors that the submarine is unstable, and that they need a way to breath underwater. He thinks the Fairies might be able to help them. So, he leads the way.

The Fairies in this place are quite happy to be around humans, not shy at all. Wesker, on multiple occasions, tries to seduce one of them but gets rejected. Terrance asks the fairies for their help and they say the'll do so if the Warriors can find one of their fairy friends. It seems like she was kidnapped.

Coren, while track-tracking, discovers that there was a person with a small horse and wagon who has been around. The people in Onrac say that he's not a commoner. They also reveal that he just left town right now!

So, the Warriors catch up to him. He openly admits that he's taken the fairy and that he's willing to give it away... for a price. After some failed intimidation attempts, Wesker decides to give him his crystal... tells Matt to do the same.

The Merchant hides his excitement and gives up the fairy.

So, remember how Crystals fly back at full force after 100 feet? Yeah.

Wekser gets hit in the junk, Matt tries to catch it like a baseball and ends up flying several metres backwards.

They return the fairy and as a reward, the fairies give them an Oxyale Veil and a Weight Stone. The Veil allows them to breath underwater and the Stone lets them change their weight at will to be able to walk underwater. Wesker fails at seducing another fairy so they head to the submarine.

Immediately, the submarine slowly fills with water. As it sinks deeper and deeper, the Warriors can see a Sunken Shrine coming up. Terrance pauses for a moment and says that he thinks the crystal is inside.

They enter the shrine. There are four rooms and one large door at the end. Each Warrior split off into the four different rooms.

Chet had to push blocks together to create an image from above. Coren had to solve the Sphinx's riddle by placing a statue of a dog on the pedestal. Viridia had the pleasure of having her hand bitten on by a statue to press the button (why does this seem familiar) and Wesker had to pull three stone levers in the right order (left, right, middle I believe). Each time they solved a puzzle, a light on the big door would light up.

When the last puzzle was solved, Terrance immediately opened the door, saying that he needs to find out why he wants to be in here. In the other end, there lies a giant blue crystal. Terrance turns around, and reveals that he remembers everything now. His real name is Kraken, and that he was supposed to make sure that the Water Crystal never reaches full strength. He says he's sorry, really sorry, but he has to stop the Warriors now.

So a battle ensures. It's not too tough a battle though Kraken has some nasty spells, even a fire spell strong enough to cast underwater. After a few tough hits, Kraken grows bigger, and reveals large tentacles. His skin turns blue and his face changes shape.

Even nastier spells, and now with the ability to grab his opponents, Kraken was a force not to be reckoned with. But reckon, they do, as they slowly whittle him down. All of the Warriors get to below 1/4 of their HP, before Chet deals the finishing blow.

Kraken starts to disintegrate. Coren asks why did they have to fight. Kraken reveals that he's truly loyal to his master and would rather die than betray him. Coren asks for his master's name. He says that his master's name is Garland. Before becoming specks of sea dust, he tells the Warriors that his short time with them were his happiest in his life.

Afterwards, Chet's crystal is reactivated and he grows stronger! Suddenly, Mermen appear. They tell the Warriors that the shrine has been infested by Kraken for 2000 years and that they weren't able to do anything about it. Even when they managed to cast him out, he still returned. If it weren't for the Warriors of Light they would have never gotten their holy shrine back. The elder merman says that he'll help the Warriors get back to shore.

And that was that. All of my Warriors tell me that they actually felt sorry for Kraken. So yeah, that's what I was going for and I'm glad I did it. It probably wasn't my best encounter, but story-wise, that was my best session.

Week 6 - An Ice Cave full of Demons

Present Warriors: All but Coren and Taliesin
(Machiavelli was played by another person)
Party Level: 8

As I sit here, at 4AM, watching House on ShowCase, farming for Pink Tails on Final Fantasy IV (the DS version!) and also waiting for class to start at 11AM because I so won't wake up before then, I've decided to write up the summary of our last DnD session!

So... As Chet was convinced that they were walking in the Forest, the Warriors sailed across the ocean, heading towards the Ice Caves to save Smithy's poor Dwarven friends. Chet picked up a stone (which later turned out to be a fish) and the Warriors get to the peninsula where the Ice Caves are supposed to be. Matoya lead them there and then she disappeared into mist (she's magical, remember).

The Warriors can clearly see demons (Evistros, to be exact) standing guard in front of the Ice Cave. The Ice Caves were salt mines, and then later became diamond mines when the Dwarves discovered that there were some deeper down in the earth. The mines weren't always cold, it was when, just recently, they discovered a giant stone door. As soon as that door opened, freezing winds came out of it and froze the entire mine. Of course, my Warriors didn't learn about this because none of them decided to make a History check (not even the one who does it at least twice a session).

So, even with only two demons guarding the the mines, it's pretty obvious that it's dangerous to run in guns-a-blazing. So you know what my Warriors do? Run in guns-a-blazing. Or swords-a-swinging. And talking horses.

Wesker zooms in on the demons first, with his multi-coloured talking trusty stead. Then he jumped up the cliff in an attempt to hang off of it with his spear. He failed horribly and fell to the ground. Then he got up and made pork chops (as in, his player was hungry and he went to go grab some dinner).

So, the other Warriors caught up and wailed on the Evistros until they all died.

Thus, the Warriors (sans Wesker) entered the cold mines. There were dead Dwarf bodies everywhere. Machiavelli (remember, he was being played by another Warrior) gutted one of the bodies, took out everything and filled it to the brim with oil and black powder. Machiavelli, who was originally a good character, quickly became Chaotic Evil. This is what happens when another player takes control of someone else's Warrior.

They went deeper and deeper into the mines until they found a huge room with a scared little Dwarf surrounded by more dead Dwarves. Machiavelli shows him the dead Dwarf and the tiny one faints.

After setting up camp, the little Dwarf wakes up and talks to the more sane Warriors. He calls himself Yvon and he tells them that the Demons disappeared as soon as he dug up a secret passage. He points out where the passage is. The Warriors immediately go through it.

They find a large, metallic door with three levers in front of them. After some messing around (basically, Machiavelli and Chet trying to break the levers), they figure it out: They have to pull them in the order of right, left, middle. The door opens, Wesker appears from behind the door (meaning he just got back) and demons rush them from behind.

So, throughout the entire dungeon, the Warriors failed to notice any of those demons stalking them. So they get surprise round'd!

There are five Evistros, three Barlgurls and a Mezzodemon (who I changed his appearance slightly. He had just one eye instead of two). The Mezzodemon stabs Illyria several times with his giant trident. Eventually, she manages to slow him down with a face full of hellish flames.

The smaller demons slowly get their health whittled down but none of them died until the Mezzodemon did; Then the others slowly died. Rhadgast managed to scare off some of the bloodied demons.

By the by, I forgot to mention... Machiavelli set off his Dwarven bomb earlier in the fight... which caused almost everyone and demon to be engulfed in hot, hot fire. I've decided that it wouldn't give on-going fire damage. I try not to babysit my Warriors if I can help myself, though.

The Warriors, victorious, trudge on. Without Yvon because to be honest, I completely forgot about him, and so did the Warriors.

Walking through the icy dungeon, they find another giant door, with seven levers. Immediately, Chet figures out that they have to all pull the levers at the exact same time. Viridia pulled any levers that some of the warriors decided they shouldn't (just two, Wesker and Machiavelli). Then the door opens, and they find an incredibly large room with a huge boat in the middle.

Viridia (which, I forgot to mention, has the Floatstone since Taliesin wasn't there) tried to punch through the boat with the Floatstone. Instead, the Floatstone disintegrates and then the giant boat suddenly lifts off the ground, fixing any problems it had with itself, and propellers come out of the ground attaching to it. The boat floats above ground and produces a boardwalk for the Warriors to walk onto the boat with. Once they get one, the boat flies up, through the ceiling (turning any ice into sand as it does so) and rises out of the ground.

They're above ground, a few thousand feet, I might add, and they can see the world all around them. The Warriors now own an airship!

Oh, and there was gold in the airship. Yeah, and enough rooms for 12 people. The Warriors move their gear from the boat onto this new ship. And that ends that adventure.

As I'm sitting here, now 6:30AM, I'm getting rediculously tired, even though I've only been up for 12 Hours (yes, I woke up at 6PM...). I'm rather disappointed in myself, I used to be better than this when it came to sleep; I could stay up for 48 hours and not screw up my sleeping schedule what-so-ever... but now I can't manage to fall asleep unless it's 6AM (no matter how long I've slept) and I am nearly impossible to walk up (no matter how early I fall asleep). I'm only 19 and I can already feel getting old. :(

Week 5 - Lich, Fiend of Earth

Present Warriors: Viridia, Taliesin, Illyria, Chet Cheleous, Rhadgast, Wesker, Coren, Machiavelli (Temp Warrior!) and Kvothe (Later Half)
Party Level: 7

Well, last week I had a Halloween Party instead of a normal DnD session, and it was quite fun. I dressed up as Mario but I was the only one to dress up. Still, everyone loved my costume and walking through the halls of Residence, people would give me an awesome stare (or an awkward one.... couldn't tell).

Anyway, I completely forgot to write this up so here it is! The epic battle against Lich!

So, the Warriors arrive in the Dragonborn town of Melmond. The Dragonborn are actin' funky... but none of the Warriors noticed. They met Smithy, Wesker gave him his Adamantite and then Smithy showed them to Dr. Unne, a scientist trying to figure out where the ruins in this area used to be. Viridia recalls that the ruins disappeared over 2000 years ago.

So, the Warriors get back to town and it's unnaturally dark. Then, a person wearing a long cape approaches them. A human person. In a town of Dragonborn. Strange, huh?

Nobody could tell that the caped person seemed too friendly to the Warriors, but whatever. The caped person calls himself Count Milner, master of Melmond. He invites the Warriors to dinner because that's what you do when famous warriors visit your little town.

Count Milner, over dinner, reveals that he is a vampire. He also reveals that the reason why a human vampire is the master of Melmond is because he brainwashed everyone because he can. He also doesn't drink the blood of intelligent creatures, anymore. A lot of the Warriors were wary of their dinner but Wesker scarfed in. After it was deemed that the food was not poisonous, they proceeded to eat it because it couldn't possibly be slow-acting poison either.

After dinner, Count Milner tells the Warriors that he has something to show them. He leads them to the middle of town, where Dragonborn seem to get a little feisty, surrounding the Warriors. The Count says that he was lying about not drinking intelligent creature blood because he is a liar. That bastard!

And so, an epic battle ensured between the Warriors, the Count and countless Dragonborn (oh god what a pun). After getting breathed on by the Dragonborn, the Warriors quickly cut the Count into mist because he turned to mist to avoid getting hurt because he's a pussy. After that, an earthquake happens, the ground opens up, the Dragonborn run away and the Warriors and the Count fall in (that's too many "ands" for my own good...)

When the Warriors wake up, they see a man wearing stone armour and wielding a stone sword with the Count impaled through the sword. He tosses the Count into the farthest corner of the room and tells them all that his name is Lich and they will not restore the power in the crystals. Lich proceeds to run right at the Warriors and then slashes at them. Wesker, however, decides to run for the Count because it's been Wesker's long life dream to become a vampire.

Wesker is quite the character at this point... he now owns a flying vest in which the wings came from a sea Roc's dead corpse. He has a talking horse and two brooms that say "Fuck you" and "Uoy kcuf" in which he plans to tie them together to make a helicopter with his horse. Now he's going to become a vampire because he can. So, he goes in that corner, rips the Count's head off, uses the Count's head to bite his neck, several times, and then hopes to become a vampire.

The other Warriors, however, proceed to get the life beaten the crap out of them. Lich can do two whole rounds on his turn, so he goes in, slash, runs at someone else, slash. Then, when he's surrounded, he spins around, knocks everyone prone, then runs at someone else and slash.

At one point, Taliesin casts this thorn wall around Lich and turned himself invisible. Lich then runs out of the wall, unharmed, and slashes right at Taliesin EVEN THOUGH HE DIDN'T SEE WHERE TALIESIN WENT.

Eventually, they get Lich's HP to 0... which, at that point, he transformed into a different form. Oh God yes, he turns into skeleton-purple-robe Lich that you all know and love from Final Fantasy. His stone sword turns into a giant stone scepter. He is not the Fiend of Earth for no reason.

Immediately, skeletons! Everywhere! One for each Warrior! They're all minions however and they shatter the skeletons to dust. However, Lich is a little tougher than that. Immediately, everyone around him get hurt because he has a necrotic freakin' aura. At that point, the Warriors are screwed indefinitely.

So, Wesker finally decides to join in on the party. He misses Lich several times (his fault! His highest roll was a 13!). However, Wesker is the only one who manages to never get to go below 1/4 of his health.

Some of the Warriors become blooded. The others, at negative frickin' health. See, Lich can create earthquakes, cast Firaga, can summon skeletons at will and hits really hard with his scepter! Oh yeah, and when he got blooded, he shadow stepped away and then double-Firaga'd.

Taliesin tried running for his life, summoning his new found pet Roc and everything, but Lich saw what he did there. So he Firaga'd him. Ouch, looks like Taliesin got to negative HP!

So, the Warriors, screwed. It seemed like God was smiling on them today because some crazy sexy white-haired woman jumps in, heals everyone to their bloodied health value, and then proceeded to beat the crap out of Lich.

Wesker instantly knew who this was, so he winked at her. Then, with a valiant jump, he hits Lich's weakpoint! And then Lich died, saying they'll never restore the crystals and such, yadda, yadda.

After a long and epic battle, the Warriors finally won (although they would have been dead if it weren't for the girl with 22ish Charisma).

She reveals herself to be... Matoya! She came looking for the Warriors and knew they needed help. She's also sexy because it's a more appealing form for them.

Wesker grabs a bag of the Lich dust that Lich polluted the ground with when he died. He told Machiavelli that he'll share it with him so that they can get high together.

Then, Kvothe's crystal floats in the air. The large crystal (which I forgot to mention) in the room interacted with Kvothe's crystal and then the large one disappeared. The small one regained it's light. The Earth Crystal is fully active once again!

The Dragonborn are happy that the Warriors defeated the Count (sort-of) and Lich and offer them a 3000GP reward. Smithy tells Wesker that he'll make him a powerful weapon with the Adamantite he got. He also asks the Warriors if they could help out his homeland. Ye'see, Demons have taken over the Dwarven Empire and is enslaving them to the large mines there. And so, the Warriors (and Matoya) are off. Also, Wesker asks for cooler Eye colours from Matoya and she gives him silver eyes. Illyria asks as well and receives red eyes.

Wesker then asks for a multi-colour vest, and asks for his horse to be multi-colour too. Of course he asks convincingly enough (high Diplomacy roll...) and Matoya says, sexily, "I'll see what I can do."

And that's the end of that.

Holy crap that's a lot crazier than I realize now.

Week 4 - The Elven Adventure

Present Warriors: Everybody
Party Level: 5

Just wanted to start off by saying that the reason why the party is leveling up so fast is because they only need half of the normal amount of experience needed to level up.

Also, we meet up every Sunday. Me thinks this thing won't take longer than the semester at the rate we're going, which saddens me.

Anyway... the Warriors are off! Coren becomes the official owner of the ship they nabbed by the pirates. Thus he becomes Captain. Wesker was the only one who opposed and only agreed to let Coren be Captain if he named the ship the Corneria. This was so his horse can greet people onto the ship whenever it says "Welcome to Coneria!"

They sail for a week and a half and nothing happens. Then, Taliesin notices four giant birds coming towards them, and identifies them as Sea Rocs.

This is one brutally slow battle. It lasted almost two hours long, I kid you not. Pretty sad considering that the battle was only about three minutes in world time.

The biggest points of this battle: Taliesin made one of the Rocs his friend and mount, Wesker attempted to rip the wings of one of the Rocs so that he can use it magically bound them on his horse. He ends up falling in the water instead, and later keeps a Roc in a choker hold. Chet tries to help Wesker with his plan and keeps him tied to a rope at all times. Illyria blew up a bunch of the Rocs. Viridia electrocuted a bunch of the Rocs. Kvothe wasn't all that useful and Rhadgast got carried away from the boat in the claws of a Roc which prompted Coren to chase them using the boat.

In the end, it all lasted way too long, which meant I had to rush the second, better half of the game.

They finally reached the Elven Kingdom and entered the castle town of Elfheim. Ten minutes after entering the town, though, a lockdown happens! The chief physician has just been murdered and the town has been locked down to try to find the killer.

The Warriors find out about the Prince of Elfheim hasn't been seen outside of the castle walls for nearly two weeks now. The Warriors decide to check out the castle.

The guards won't let them in but the Chancellor, by chance, happens to see them and invites them in. Kvothe notices that he's unnaturally friendly, but doesn't tell anybody.

The Chancellor, Aelar, tells them that the prince is very ill and won't be able to to see them until tomorrow. The Warriors are free to do as they please until nightfall.

In particular, Taliesin asks to look at the prince to see if he could help. Upon entering the room, he sees the Prince is having a nightmarish sleep, turning and groaning. The chief physician's apprentice isn't having much luck figuring out what's wrong.

Coren decides to check out the murder scene. He sees the chief physician on the ground. There's no blood, and no wound of any sort on his body. Soon after, all of the Warriors decide to sleep.

Coren, Illyria, and Rhadgast wake up in a cave with moss all over the walls and the ground covered in fog. There is a demon of some sort blocking the only exit to this room. They attack the demon but no matter what they do, it just stands there and smiles at them. Then, it turns into fog and fuses with the ground.

Taliesin and Viridia both wake up in a room of treasures. They are so compelled to pick up everything they see... that they do so. Upon exiting the room, the armour they picked up melt off of them, the gold in their pockets turn to mud, and the weapons they're holding fuse with their hands and they turn out to be cursed. The treasure room behind them turn into a marshy cave.

Kvothe and Chet wake up in a bar room. A charred up Bikke is standing behind the counter and tells them to drink or die. They keep making and failing Endurance checks and in the end, they both become piss drunk. Bikke laughs and the entire room fades into fog. They too are in the Marsh-like Cave.

Wesker wakes up with a person with kingly wear standing above him. He reveals himself to be Prince Elfheim and reveals that he's been in this room for two weeks doing nothing but battling monsters that appear out of the fog. Elfheim tells Wesker that he thinks the only way out of the room is by a glass switch on the ceiling. Wesker, being the Dragoon that he is, jumps up and smashes it, causing one of the walls to turn into fog.

The Warriors all end up in the same room, with a door at one end. This door has a demon face on it. It tells the Warriors that the door handle is in its mouth and they'll have to reach in to grab it, but it'll bite their arms off in the process.

All of the Warriors argue for a long time about this until Coren suddenly sticks his hand in it.

The demon face smiles as it turns into fog with the rest of the door. Inside Coren's hand, is a vorpal greatsword + 6. Coren was the only person heroic enough to risk his life.

Inside this last room, are three beautiful women. Chet runs in and kisses one and the woman kisses back, stealing some of his soul. The Warriors attack and the women slowly reveal themselves to be succubi. Soon after the battle starts, however, the women turn to fog.

Suddenly, all of the fog inside the cave fuses into one spot and turns into a Mindflayer. It suddenly attacks with a psychic blast, rendering half of the Warriors useless for a turn.

But... soon after the Warriors fight back aggressively... they knock the Mindflayer prone, and beat on him while he's stuck inside of a giant poisoned hedge wall that Taliesin conjured up.

In the end, the Mindflayer didn't stand a change... and even died of poison damage.

All of the Warriors suddenly wake up, completely find and without shiny new (and cursed) weapons. They hear a hellish scream, a thud, and a small object rolling.

Outside of their room, they see the chancellor on the ground. He turns into fog, and the fog quickly dissipates, revealing the Mindflayer they fought. They also notice a small, purple ball on the ground in front of them (which Taliesin quickly grabs). It turns out the Mindflayer was Astos!

Prince Elfheim gets out of his room, sees the Warriors, and immediately realizes what happened. He tells the Warriors to follow him.

In the throne room, he deeply thanks the Warriors and gives them a reward. He also tells them that his home is their home and they can do whatever they want in the castle. He tells them, as a group favour, he'll do anything in his power to help them.

Taliesin mentions the crystals, and Elfheim immediately knows what he's talking about. He gives them a map revealing the locations of three of the four elemental shrines in the world. At these shrines, the Warriors can restore the power of the Crystals. They will head for the nearest Shrine on the map; Melmond, in the Land of the Dragonborn early in the morning.

Matoya's face appears on the crystal ball that Taliesin is holding, and tells them that she knows the prince and will get him to give her the crystal. She floats the crystal to the prince and mentions that she'll meet them "further down on the road".

And so, the Warriors rest after one long and grueling night.

Dungeons and Dragons - The Final Fantasy Adventure

Hey-yo! I'm writing up the next session for our DnD campaign and I've decided to summarize the sessions we already had. I'll do this for every session, and so why not do it on here?

So, my campaign is based on the first Final Fantasy game... an idea given to me by a friend of mine. And it's working out extremely well... in fact, I really like doing this. Not to mention, my first time being DM, it's really good practice using an already-made idea to get the feeling of everything.

Not to mention (although I totally am mentioning it), the first Final Fantasy actually was a DnD campaign, which is why I went with the idea in the first place: To recreate an old campaign that probably hasn't been done in a long time. Even though it's based on the game, though, I have a lot of opportunities to change things and make it all flow better. And the changes keep on coming, to the point that it'll barely be recognizable... but this is also to help with the fact that several people in this campaign played the original Final Fantasy. It'll keep it fresh from the dungeon crawling nature of the original game, and it'll keep those familar with everything from ruining everything.

Now then, there are eight people in my campaign. You heard me right, eight people. As a first time DM, this is pretty hard to keep track of... but I'm getting better with each session. Even though I said no more then eight, I might expand it to ten because a lot more people are interested...

So, here are my Warriors:
Chet, the low-intelligent based Fighter (guess where he got the idea for that one?)
Kvothe, the newbie Cleric (his first time playing DnD, and he's not too bad either)
Wesker, the insane Dragoon (yeah, I'm allowing Homebrew stuff for this, makes it more fun)
Rhadgast, the Fighter who misses a LOT (it annoys him and it's pretty funny... for me)
Viridia, the Final Fantasy-master Swordmage (too bad he won't be predicting future sessions!)
Taliesin, the min-maxing Druid (and a greedy bastard too)
Illyria, the destructive Warlock (she's the only girl of the group...)
Coren, the selfless Ranger (he's probably the leader of the group, too)

Only the first four are the so-called "Crystal Bearers" (Water, Earth, Wind, and Fire, respectfully), but they're all Warriors of Light, which is why I like to call them the "Warriors" instead of referring to them as PCs.

Eight different Warriors, eight different personalities... it makes for a very unique (and fun!) party.

So anyway, onto the session summaries:

Week 1 - Onwards to the Ruined Fortress!
Present Warriors: Chet, Wesker, Kvothe, Rhadgast
Party Level: 1

This was the first week and a lot of people were away, but I wanted to kick off the campaign anyway so I decided that as long as four people were present I'd do it. These four warriors automatically became the Crystal Bearers.

The Crystals are quite important in Final Fantasy, so they remain in this campaign, with some unique properties. For one thing, they cannot be seperated from their Warrior; if so, after being away at least 100 feet from the Warrior, it'll return, full force. Meaning, that if it's locked in a steel box and the Warrior moves 100 feet away, it'll burst out of the box and hit the Warrior at a damaging rate. They are also indestructible in all ways possible.

I thought that by doing this, the crystals will remain with its designated Warrior at all times. So far, the Warriors themselves haven't found a loop-hole to this.

Anyway, the four Warriors stand in front of King Leo of Corneria... and before Leo even says anything, Chet yells out to Rhadgast and asks him if he's a woman. Rhadgast yells back "No."

Leo chooses to ignore this random outburst and tells them that his daughter, the fair Princess Sarah was taken away by his finest knight, Garland. For what purpose he did this, Leo did not know.

So, after telling the Warriors of his plight, Chet decides to fall asleep in front of the king. Wesker tries to apologize to the king for Chet's randomness but utterly fails (he rolled a 1 on a diplomacy check) so he ran away from embarrassment.

Leo orders his guards to throw Chet outside. Rhadgast and Kvothe decide to do research on Garland, finding out some useful info.

After some bed smashing and castle climbing (no joke), the Warriors decide to head for the ruined castle north of Corneria, where Garland waited with the princess in tow.

Along the way, the Warriors were ambushed by... Goblins! I mostly wanted the first battle against goblins because they're pretty much the first random encounter you'll get in Final Fantasy.

The Warriors rape the goblins and head onwards to the ruins.

And that was the end of that session... it was short because we started very late, and Chet had to get going.

Week 2: Warriors of Light Vs. Garland
Present Warriors: All but Chet
Party Level: 1

Chet couldn't make it to this session so we continued on as if he didn't exist in the first place.

So, the Warriors left off standing in front of the ruins. Taliesin and Coren were hunting when they saw the Warriors and decided to help them on their quest. Viridia is a Cornerian soldier who decided to catch up to the Warriors and help. Illyria decided to exist.

After trying to figure out how to get into the rather quiet ruins, they get in from the front door. Still quiet, and two hallways to go through, the Warriors split up.

Taliesin, Coren, Viridia, and Wesker all went down the left path. After fighting some zombies and skeletons, they find a trapdoor that leads to a tunnel of some sort in one of the rooms they investigated. Illyria, Rhadgast, and Kvothe head down the other direction, where they bust in on goblins playing poker (or something) and then secure some nice weapons.

They all meet up and go back to the trapdoor (after the others got their own weapons). They head down, quietly and cautiously. The tunnel is very long, and after ten minutes of walking they find a door. They open it up (or rather, Rhadgast punches it open) and they end up in an altar room, with Garland not surprised at the break in.

I forgot to mention, there were six dire wolves in that room too.

So the seven Warriors squared off against Garland and his wolves. The Warriors... pretty much rape Garland in the skull and his wolves. During battle, Wesker decided to take as much wolf meat as possible with him, sad that he failed to make any of the wolves his friend.

Garland then floats off into the air and disappears after falling over.

They save Sarah, who was on the altar, and she teleports them back to Castle Corneria.

King Leo thanks them for rescuing Sarah. They all get rewarded, except for Coren who instead asks for a favor. Wesker also convinces the King for something extra for risking their lives.

King Leo tells them that the bridge to the Provoka continent will be repaired, to help them explore new lands. Princess Sarah tells them that they need to restore power to the crystals because she thinks something bad will happen if they don't. King Leo allows them to live in the castle until the bridge is repaired.

By the way, both of those sessions were entirely improvised by yours truly. I was quite happy with the end result.

Week 3: Ninjas and Pirates
Present Warriors: Everybody
Party Level: 3

Coren's favour was that he asked King Leo for a mode of transportation. The King gives them a large wagon with three horses to tow it; the Warriors of Light's own caravan.

King Leo also gives Wesker the item he promised: Adamatite. He tells Wesker to go find Smithy to forge something good out of this ore.

The Warriors cross the bridge. Along the way, Taliesin, Coren, and Wesker grab the three horses and all train them to see them each to be their masters (so they each got a horse for free pretty much).

They decide to camp for the night, seeing as it's getting dark. That night, Chet throws fire at Wesker's horse, so Rhadgast neck-grabs Chet and keeps him there for the rest of the evening. Nightfall, Coren hears screaming and goes to investigate. He finds a cave with rooms that look like a house. He alerts the others and they all go to the cave, except for Chet who stays asleep.

They explore this house-cave and see a robed monster holding an old lady and a crystal. The monster disappears but not before sicking his shadow warriors at them.

A long and arduous battle ensures.

All the while that is happening, Chet wakes up, climbs a tree, looks for a muffin, finds a magical one in the tree that says "Welcome to Corneria", gets bitch-slapped by God, and finally feeds Wesker's horse the muffin. This results is Wesker's horse talking, saying "Welcome to Corneria" whenever it opens its mouth.

After the battle, the old lady reveals herself to be Matoya and the monster they saw before was Astos. He stole her Crystal Eye and wants the Warriors to get it back for her. Doing so, she'll help them for selfless reasons. Wesker attempts to hit on her while she's talking and in turn, she snaps her fingers and magically bound & gags all of the Warriors. Wesker winks because he's a masochist and so she snaps her fingers again which makes him not a masochist. She snaps them again and they're freed. Taliesin tells them not to mess with her and her almighty gagging powers. Wesker then goes and steals two of Matoya's backwards talkin' brooms and asks her to make him a masochist again.

Matoya tells them to head for the Elven Kingdom for that's where Astos has gone. She also tells them that they'll need a boat and will get one in the port town of Pravoka.

Taliesin procures a small glass ball.

They leave, and discover Chet mumbling to himself, with Wesker's horse talking. Wesker instantly falls in love with it, while Taliesin runs away from fear.

They catch up to Taliesin, and head for the port town, where they discover that the town is overrun by pirates.

They find the pirates drinking at the local pub, where Chet and their leader, Bikke, have a drinking contest. Bikke will give them his ship if Chet manages to beat him.

Bikke falls flat on his face after a couple drinks. Chet proudly yells.

Bikke then stands up and drunkenly tell his pirates to attack.

After a few quick rounds, Bikke forfeits, and tells them that his ship is theirs. At this point, Coren walks off while the others steal everything off of the pirates. They run away and Illyria chases after them and burns them to a crisp.

Coren convinces the Mayor of Pravoka to give his fellow Warriors a reward while he gets to own the ship. Taliesin catches up at this point and convinces the Mayor to let him open up a clinic (he has a high heal check) while Coren modifies the ship. The Mayor agrees, and Taliesin smirks.

...And that is it. That's three separate sessions of our DnD campaign.

Yes, it's silly. Yes, it's insanely unrealistic. But it's fun! I want my Warriors to have as much fun as possible in the process, even if they end up doing things completely insane! In fact, this is the most fun I've had in a while, meeting up with this small group of friends and telling them what's happening to their imaginary characters. I don't care that things aren't going exactly the way I want them to, as long as my Warriors are happy, I am happy.

College and Video Games

I love college. Especially my course. Everything is centered around video games. Right now, in my Scriptwriting class, we're figuring out how Paradise Lost can work as a video game. How is that not globin?

Both my C# and my C++ classes teach me the basic core of a video game: the programming; the part of the game that you don't see. And yet, it is the most important part of the game. This too is very globin.

Best of all is Level Design. Not the theory, though (that stuff is boring), but the actual design. I absolutley love creating new areas and locations in Unreal Editor 3. Right now I'm working on a death match stage based on the Forest Temple from Ocarina of Time, and that is especially globin.

Video games-wise, its going a lot better than last year. I demolished Metroid Prime (Trilogy combo for the Wii) in just three days, did everything you can do in Mario & Luigi 3, and Mastered Ocarina of Time (3 heart challenge... Not as easy as it seems). I'm also slowly getting through Kingdom Hearts on the DS now. Pretty globin if you ask me.

Yup. Gamin' is good. Life is good. I got a healthy balance of privacy and a social life. I'm pretty lucky right now, being in this situation. Not nearly as many people are as lucky as me... So I guess I should enjoy it.

Lots of people like to complain about the small things in life, never really looking at the big picture. Me, though, I'm looking at the big picture right now. More people should look at the bigger picture. They might see the best parts about it, like me. Yep, life is globin.

Oh, and if you're not understanding the nature-ish of my globin, then why aren't you playing Mario & Luigi 3 yet!? I promise you right now that you will not be disappointed.

Summer Games '09

So, I downloaded this new App on my iTouch that allows me to write for my blog. It's actually a lot simpler than using Safari to write posts. It was only $2 so I thought, why not? My only problem thus far is that I can't seem to save posts to edit them before posting. Its called BlogWriter if anyone is interested.

I think I've played more games this summer than I've ever had in a long time. In the form of a list I've played:

-Paper Mario
-Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
-Super Paper Mario
-Super Mario RPG
-Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-Zelda: Majora's Mask
-Zelda: Wind Waker
-Zelda: Twilight Princess
-Shadow of the Colossus
-Final Fantasy X

...and an assortment of handheld games that I don't remember. And lots and lots of Brawl.

Playing the Paper Mario games were great fun. My friends and I took turns playing these games. I couldn't wait for my turn. I loved finding badges and star pieces. The music is great in all of the games, and the gameplay is so fun and unique.

My only gripe with the games is making all the recipees to get that shiny gold 'C' in my backlog. I'm glad, however. I always wanted to do those recipees. Just never had a reason to do so until now.

I've played Super Mario RPG countless times, and there will be more times to come. But this time it was a little different. It was a race against my brother to see who can beat it first. It was very close but he managed to defeat Smithy just barely a minute before me.

I'm not sure why I've played through this game so much. I just find it so fun, so great. It seems somewhat mediocre, with clunky gameplay. And yet I love it.

I love all the Mario RPG games. I don't know about you, but I'm psyched for Bowser's Inside Job. And while I enjoyed Super Paper Mario, I hope we get a regular Paper game soon.

I already expressed my opinion on the Zelda series so I'm not going to say much here. I saw the picture with Link and that Master Sword-lookin' girl. I'm not sure where Nintendo is going with this idea but I hope it works out. I have my faith in Nintendo in that they'll continue to create a quality series.

Huh. I just figured out that blog posts save when you press 'Back'. Whoda thunk it?

Shadow of the Colossus was definately different. In a good way, of course. I enjoyed my short time with the game. It was very fun figuring out how to figure out how to kill each Colossus. The music is excellent and I would fully recommend buying the soundtrack if you have the chance.

The game is, in a way, simple. But very, very different. I wouldn't recommend it unless you think you're interested. If you're looking for something different, then by all means, check it out. You won't be dissapointed.

I've owned Final Fantasy X for a very long time. It was this summer when I finally beat it. Although my friend played 50 hours of it, I played the last 50 hours- doing all the side-quests and such. I've already experienced the first 50 hours so I didn't mind. And I enjoyed every last minute of those last 50 hours.

The battle system in this game is different from most RPGs. It's character turn based like the Mario RPG games instead of party turn based like Dragon Quest games. I like this system and want to see it in more games. The sphere leveling up system is great but could have used a lot of work in the choices department. And I personally enjoyed the story very much. I admit I shed a tear at the ending of this game. After beating it I now consider X to be the best in the series.

Its been a very long time now since I've had such determination to beat games in the same way I beat these. And I love having that determination... I don't want to lose it again. That is why, one by one, I'll complete my backlog. I will do it, even if it takes a long time. I can do it, and I will do it.
